Headed into Holiday season without our loved ones
It is that time again!! The holiday season is quickly approaching as we are prepping and preparing to spend time with our family members. The holidays can be depressing to some.
Many have fallen victims to depression, hurt, and feeling alone because they have lost their loved ones during this time of the year. For them the holidays don’t or wont mean the same.
This year it will be hard for me because my grandmother would have celebrated her 70th birthday on December 16th. Although I haven't spent the last several holidays with my grandmother I was always able to call and hear her voice. This year will be very different as I head into this season.
My grandmother was as wonderful cook and I will miss her cooking which cannot be replaced. My only regret is that I have not spent the quality time together like I did when I was growing up. Growing up we (whoever) offer their services would help prepare the meal. In the past she would cook a big dinner but as we got older she coked less.
So this Christmas my family and I plan on spending time together bonding as we have done in the past and celebrating the memory of our grandmother. I am really looking forward to this because we all have plenty of memories to share around the table.
This holiday season lets share a smile or give our time to someone in need of them. Let's take time out of your schedule to visit a nursing home, or spend time with someone who has recently lost or lost a loved one. You never know how much they would appreciate your companionship.
Until we meet again.
